Struck in 22-carat gold, it commemorates 500 years since Henry VIII’s coinage reforms that introduced this alloy as the standard for Sovereign coins. The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St George slaying the dragon, now enhanced with micro-text for improved security. The obverse includes a new secure pattern and a latent image beneath the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, shifting between the Tudor Crown, the King’s cypher, and the Tudor Rose.
