The silver American Eagle is an iconic coin of the United States of America, with unique designs on both sides, unlike its gold counterpart.

Minted by the US Mint since 1986, it solved problems of national silver devaluation. It has a face value of $1, but its market value is influenced by the price of silver. Available to many as a gift, it has a purity of 99.99% and is minted in a 1 ounce format.

The obverse features Walking Liberty, designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, while the reverse shows a heraldic eagle with shield and thirteen stars, designed by John Mercanti in 1986.
