Struck in 22-carat gold, it celebrates the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII’s reforms, which introduced this standard alloy. The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic depiction of St George and the dragon, enhanced with security micro-text incorporating the motto of the Order of the Garter: HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The obverse includes a latent image that reveals, depending on the angle, the Tudor Crown, His Majesty King Charles III’s royal cypher, or the Tudor Rose. The result is a coin that combines tradition, refinement and cutting-edge security technology.
